Situated in the beautiful village of Puncknowle, close to Chesil beach and five miles from Bridport, The Crown is a traditional thatched 16th century Inn serving home-cooked food, real ales, good wines and a great selection of other drinks.
Friendly and welcoming, The Crown is popular with walkers, families and dog owners, who’s four legged friends are welcomed with open paws inside the comfortable pub with its roaring log fires. Leather sofas and traditional pub games entice you to relax

Regularly changing with the seasons, The Crown's menus are of the highest quality, balancing the hearty flavours of good traditional British food with Chef's specials using, local quality ingredients, the result being satisfying dishes to suit all tastes. Wherever possible the kitchen sources produce from local suppliers, not only for its main menus but also in its regularly changing specials and desserts. Light bites, snacks and Crown Tapas slates are an option for those of you on a fleeting visit!
In the summer, there is a lovely garden, overlooking the Bride Valley, for you to relax in the sunshine, savouring a long, cool drink. Its mature shrubs and lovely views, offer a peaceful world away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
For those travelling, you might consider booking the en-suite room for the night – with its windows looking out over the old church you may be greeted by the bells ringing on a Sunday but, other than that, you should sleep peacefully! Of course, for those of you who want to include the whole family in your stay, the room is dog friendly.

The team are - Blanche (Me) , Misty the dog (Labradoodle extraordinaire!) and my team take over the Crown at Puncknowle. Husband Alex ran pubs with me for 10 years and now works in the wings, (working elsewhere normally); Libby my assistant, has worked with me in Hampshire for nearly two years now and is returning to her home area; Whilst Scott (Chef) has worked with me - on and off - for 10 years in Cornwall, the Isles of Scilly and Hampshire.
We are also happy to welcome to the team Chef Alan, John, Janet and the others!! (Meg, Meg etc etc!!)
